This Privacy Policy describes how TimeMap (the “App”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. Please read this policy carefully before using the App.
- Account information: Email address and password (the password is stored as an encrypted hash; the developer cannot access your original password).
- Task records: Task titles, categories, durations, dates, and other content you create in the App.
1.2 Location (optional, foreground only, only when you add a record)
- When you add a record, if you have granted location permission, the App reads your precise location (GPS) once, to tag that record with the place where it happened — for example, the café where you had lunch — so you can review your records on a map later.
- Location is read only at the moment you add a record, and only while the App is in the foreground. It is never collected in the background.
- Those coordinates sync to the cloud together with that record (see Section 3).
- You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. The rest of the App keeps working.
1.3 Permissions we request, for files that never leave your device
- Photo library / Camera / Microphone: requested only when you choose to attach a photo, video, snapshot, or voice note to a record.
- These media files stay on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers and are not included in cloud sync. Switching devices or deleting the App will lose them, so export anything you want to keep.
1.4 Third-party sign-in
- The App supports Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us with an anonymous user identifier and the email address you choose to share, used to create and identify your account.
- We never receive your Apple ID password or any other information you hold with Apple.
- We do not collect your name, phone number, or government-issued ID.
- We do not access your contacts.
- We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). The App shows no ads and performs no cross-app tracking.
- The App bundles no crash-analytics or behavioral-analytics SDK. We do not collect device identifiers, session length, or interaction events.
We use your information only for the following purposes:
- Providing core App functionality (recording, sync, statistics, export)
- Verifying your account identity
- Fixing bugs and improving App quality
- Cooperating with law-enforcement requests as required by applicable law
We do not use your personal information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your task records to any third party.
3. Storage and Third Parties
3.1 Storage Location
- Your account and task records are stored in cloud databases provided by Supabase (https://supabase.com). Supabase is a database service provider based in the United States; your data may be stored in its global data centers.

About the AI features: if you would rather not have record titles sent to a third party, simply don’t use “AI comment” or “AI assistant”.
Automatic categorisation falls back to on-device keyword matching when offline, which makes no network request at all.
3.3 Data Retention
Task records in your account are retained until you delete them or close your account. After closure, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
- All communication between the client and server is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS.
- Passwords are stored as encrypted hashes; the developer cannot retrieve your plain-text password.
- We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to prevent leaks, damage, or loss of information. However, please understand that the internet is not absolutely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Access and export: You can use the in-app export feature at any time to obtain all your task data in Excel / JSON / CSV format.
- Correction and deletion: You can edit or delete any task record in the App.
- Account deletion: To delete your account and all data, contact the developer by email. We will process your request within 7 working days and complete deletion within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent: You may stop using the App at any time.
6. Children’s Privacy
This App is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us to delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant updates will be posted on this page and announced via in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
